 Várjjat Sámi Musea Nesseby

The Sea Same Museum is located in Nesseby 80 km from Utsjoki. The museum exhibits the past and the present of costal Same culture.

"Pikkuskitsi"
Pikkuskitsi is build in an old fish factory on the see shore close to the mouth of Annijoki River, 110 km from Utsjoki and 17 km before arriving to Vesisaari.  This area used to be and still is strongly populated by the Kvens and the Finnish originated language is still widely spoken. Pikkuskitsi offers good possibilities for see and river fishing, bird watching and cultural walks.

 Mortensnes Cultural Heritage Site
Mortensnes Cultural Heritage Site is on the sea shore further 20 km from Nesseby and 100 km from Utsjoki. This Cultural Heritage site is one of the richest and most characteristic cultural heritage sites in Scandinavia. Constructed trails with new and informative signposts, in 2008, led to the monuments, which show continuous settlement from more than 10.000 years ago until recent times. www.varjjat.org

Varanger Museum
The distance between Utsjoki and Vesisaari is 130 km. In the Varanger Museum we are going to get acquainted with the cultural history of the Kvens in the Norwegian Lapland. The Kvens migrated, from the Finnish speaking areas of Finland and Sweden in the 18th and 19th centuries, to Ruija "the land by the Artic Ocean". Esbensengården is a trading house in aristocratic style with farm buildings from 1850.Tuomainengården is a fascinating traditional Kven and Finnish hamlet from about 1840.
